Ending Period Poverty In North Texas Starts Here

She Supply is working to distribute ONE MILLION period products in 2024 to women and girls living in poverty

There are more than 150,000 female-led households in DFW living below the federal poverty line. Women and girls struggling to secure the basics like food, shelter and clothing, but also faced with another uniquely feminine necessity – menstrual hygiene products.

One in four North Texas women and girls struggle monthly to afford or access period products. One in three low-income North Texas women miss work and girls miss school monthly because they chronically do not have period products. That’s how the cycle of generational poverty continues.

Every year, North Texas Giving Day helps She Supply fulfill our mission to help women and girls in need and this year, we need you more than ever.

In 2017, our co-founders had a vision to create a grassroots nonprofit to help collect and distribute free tampons and pads to families living in poverty.

In January of 2023, after years of hard work and dedication, She Supply distributed our ONE MILLIONTH product in a special ceremony at The Family Place in Dallas, one of our longtime partners.

By the end of last year, we had distributed more than 500,000 more and in 2024, She Supply has set a goal to distribute ONE MILLION period products in this calendar year alone.

We are closing in on that goal, but to achieve it, we need to raise $30,000 for North Texas Giving Day and finish the year strong. With your help, we can do it.

Thanks to donations and valued partnerships with the Alliance for Period Supplies and committed brands including Kotex, Always, and Honey Pot, plus community product drives, grants, and the organization’s board and volunteers, She Supply provides tampons, pads, and undergarments to help close the resource gap at more than 20 partner agencies in Dallas and
Denton counties, and others.

Despite all of our state’s public support initiatives, Texas does not require free products in schools or public restrooms. If not donated to community service and crisis centers, women and girls will go without these items or use unsafe items in their stead. Your contributions help change that as well.

This Fall, in partnership with “Pads On A Roll” manufacturer Egal, She Supply is shepherding a pilot program through numerous LISD schools that will put free pads in every school bathroom.

With your help reaching our goal of $30,000 in giving during North Texas Giving Day, She Supply can reach our goal to distribute ONE MILLION period products in 2024. Thank you for your consideration and your generosity.
