Our Story
She Supply was founded in 2016 by Kathy Meyer and Shari Mayes with a clear and powerful mission. They wanted to restore dignity and promote health for women and girls in need by providing free menstrual products. The idea took root during a youth choir tour bus ride, when Shari shared a video about period poverty that deeply moved them both. Realizing that many women are forced to choose between basic necessities like food, rent, and hygiene products, Kathy and Shari began researching the needs in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and quickly discovered a significant gap in access to essential items.
What began as a simple conversation turned into immediate action. A one-time donation drive soon grew into a larger movement, as Kathy and Shari developed the vision for She Supply and committed to making a lasting impact in their community. Their efforts led to the official launch of She Supply as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit during National Women’s Health Week. Since then, the organization has remained dedicated to fighting period poverty and ensuring that women and girls facing financial hardship, housing instability, or crisis situations have access to the products they need.
Driven by a mission to fight period poverty, the organization supplies essential hygiene items to those facing financial, housing, or crisis-related challenges.
Today, She Supply partners with shelters, schools, and nonprofit organizations throughout North Texas to ensure women and girls have access to the basic hygiene products they need.
